I’m a data scientist helping progressive organizations make smarter decisions with data. Before starting my freelance career, I led and worked on analytics teams at some of the largest national progressive advocacy organizations, including Indivisible, MoveOn, and the Voter Participation Center.

My path to data science started with organizing. I volunteered on the first Obama campaign, and later got a job as a lead organizer. I discovered that by closely analyzing canvassing metrics, I could identify which canvassers needed more support. The connection between creative data analysis and real-world outcomes set me on a path to working in progressive analytics. Eventually, I went to grad school to study survey methodology and data science at the University of Michigan, and I’ve been applying those skills to progressive causes ever since.

These days, I use cutting-edge statistical methods to solve complex problems in organizing and advocacy. I live in Colorado (Check out that mountain behind me! And that flannel!) where I take an active role in small-town, rural politics while working on the biggest national issues. Outside of work, find me biking, skiing, or at the sewing machine making clothing that sort of fits.
